How Do I Maintain My PPF After Installation?

For Exteror PPF Kits, we recommend:

  • Wash regularly with a pH-neutral soap and soft microfiber cloth; avoid brushes and harsh detergents.
  • Remove contaminants immediately - bird droppings, bug splatter, tree sap, and tar.
  • Optional every 4‑6 months: apply a PPF-safe sealant or coating to maintain gloss and protection.

For Interior PPF Kits, we recommend:

  • Clean weekly with a damp microfiber cloth and mild interior cleaner.
  • Vacuum or dust film-covered areas regularly to prevent grit buildup.
  • Optional every 6‑12 months: apply a film-safe protective spray on high-wear areas.

Our maintenance tips keep your BMW, Porsche, Ford, Mercedes, Tesla, or Toyota looking freshly detailed year-round.

What should I expect the film to look like directly after installation?

Directly after installation, the PPF may look cloudy or milky, with tiny bubbles and some residuel fluid left under the film. Over the next 1–4 weeks the residual fluid will evaportate and the film will settle, clear up, and look smooth.

Detailed breakdown as follows:

Residual fluid / wetness: The film is installed with a soapy slip solution -. Expect water or soapy fluid trapped under edges or seams. This is normal.

Bubbles: Tiny air bubbles may be visible across the surface. Most are normal and will dissipate over time as the fluid evaporates.

Haziness / milky appearance: A slightly cloudy or hazy look is common, especially in the first 24–48 hours. This is caused by leftover installation solution under the film. This will evaporate naturally in the weeks after the installation.

Scratches / swirls: Any scratches, swirls or damage inflicted during the installation phase can be easily removed thanks to the self-healing abilities of the high grade PPF. Simply use a hairdryer or heat gun to warm the film; watch the damage disappear in front of your eyes.
